DuskPage works in Safari on Mac, iPhone and iPad. It needs macOS 14, or iOS and iPadOS 17, or later. Here is how to set it up and what to do when something looks wrong.

Set it up on a Mac

  1. Open DuskPage from your Applications folder.
  2. Click Open Safari Settings, then turn on DuskPage in the Extensions section.
  3. Open any website in Safari. When Safari asks, tick Remember for other websites and click Always Allow, or click Always Allow on Every Website.

If Safari does not ask, click Open Safari Settings in DuskPage, then Always Allow on Every Website. DuskPage’s window says “You’re all set” when every step is done.

Click DuskPage’s button in Safari’s toolbar to turn it off or on. Right-click the button to change the page palette or choose what happens on the website you are on. Control-Shift-D turns DuskPage off or on, and Control-Shift-S does the same for the website you are on.

Set it up on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app, then Safari (inside Apps if Settings lists it there), then Extensions, then DuskPage. Newer systems show an Open Safari Settings button in DuskPage that takes you there.
  2. Turn on Allow Extension.
  3. On the same screen, tap All Websites and choose Allow.
  4. Open any website in Safari.

To change a setting, open DuskPage’s panel in Safari. On iPhone, tap the Page Menu button in the address bar (AA on iOS 17), then DuskPage. On iPad, tap the DuskPage button in the address bar.

If DuskPage says paid access is not verified

Open DuskPage and use Check Paid Access. Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account that bought DuskPage. One purchase covers Mac, iPhone and iPad.

If a page stays light

Safari may be allowing DuskPage on only some websites. DuskPage’s window says so when it knows. On a Mac, click Open Safari Settings in DuskPage, then Always Allow on Every Website. On iPhone or iPad, go back to DuskPage’s screen in Settings, tap All Websites and choose Allow.

If every page is light, DuskPage may be turned off. On a Mac, click its button in Safari’s toolbar. On iPhone or iPad, open its panel and tap Turn DuskPage On. If one website stays light, check that This website in the panel does not say Leave as is.

If a page looks wrong

Use Report this page. On a Mac, right-click DuskPage’s button and choose it. On iPhone or iPad, it is at the bottom of DuskPage’s panel. It copies a short report with the page’s address and shows where to send it. Tell me what looks wrong and I will take a look.

Until then, you can choose Leave as is under This website in the panel, and DuskPage will leave that website alone.

Turn it off or on from outside Safari

The Shortcuts app has Turn DuskPage On, Turn DuskPage Off and Turn DuskPage On/Off. Control Center has a DuskPage control on macOS 26 and on iOS and iPadOS 18 or later.
